The trip home was long but went well. It was nice to finally get to talk to family and friends in person about my experiences.

We did so much that I don’t really like just trying to explain it to people. I’m a lot better at question / answer! That said though, I think the hardest part of all this is explaining where we stayed. Everyone knows about hiking and going on safari and all that jazz… But the UAACC is something completely different. Just the concept behind it is something completely foreign to most people. That is probably my biggest hurdle in talking with people.

My personal readjustment to life in the states went a good bit smoother. I’m a pretty easy going guy and transition smoothly. The best part was finally getting some time to be alone and decompress. The sleep schedule wasn’t too hard to fix either, I just wake up a good bit earlier now. I feel pretty much like the same person I left as, with may be a few small changes. Just one example… I wave to people now, just total strangers. I think that’s a good change!
